The Peninsula Shanghai No 32 The Bund, 32 Zhongshan Dong Yi Road Shanghai 200002 The People's Republic of China General Information and Press: psh@peninsula.com The Peninsula Shanghai fronts the historic Bund within the exclusive Waitan Yuan, with views of the Bund, Huangpu River, Pudong and the former British Consulate Gardens. The architecture of the building is sympathetic with the historic architecture of its landmark neighbours along the Bund. The interiors of The Peninsula Shanghai are inspired by the Art Deco period (1920s - 1930s), "The Golden Age" when Shanghai was Paris of the East. Blending historical references with contemporary flair while paying respect to the Peninsula’s classic traditions, the hotel is expected to open its doors in 2009. The luxury hotel comprises 235 rooms and suites and will be the ninth property in the Peninsula Hotels' portfolio of branded hotels. The 15-storey hotel will have five food and beverage facilities, including the signature Peninsula lobby, a themed bar, a jazz bar, a Chinese restaurant, and a rooftop restaurant and bar. The hotel also provides a grand ballroom, function rooms, themed lounge, a special events salon, a fully-equipped business centre, swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, retail shops and a Peninsula boutique. ![]() |
